The new Shady Point School SAFE ROOM was dedicated today. When the board. began to discuss naming the building there is only one name that came to mind. There is no one who better represent our school, our community, and our students. Let me be the first to welcome you to the "Charles Dan Smith Saferoom".
This building was made possible with the support of the community, the school administraitn, and the school board. Without everyone this building could not have been built.

Every day Mr. Dan makes it a point to ensure students are safe and welcome on campus. He is always there with a hug or a stick of gum and treats every student as an extension of his own family. This safe room will protect our students for years to come and this building is dedicated to the person that protects our students day in and day out.
