Here is the complete announcement: https://5il.co/e6zw Attention Parents: Yesterday, the Oklahoma State Board of Education unanimously approved an order that implements a continuous learning model to complete the 2019-20 school year for Oklahoma students. This brings up an important question, “What does this mean and what do I do with my children for the next eight weeks?”. The school campus will be closed to students. Instruction will continue just not in the traditional sense we are accustomed to. School as we know it is changing and we are working on how it will look. Rest assured we will be working with your children and teaching them. We are not going to close the doors and lay all the burden of instruction on the parents. However, we will need your help in this process. We have programs and equipment in place to accomplish learning at a distance on a smaller scale. We will be working on expanding this to all our students over the next couple of weeks. We are prepared to make these changes and we will do it the correct way with our individual student's needs in mind. As we work through all the details over the next week, we expect to narrow down all the things that are changing and give more guidance on how this process will work. The classroom teachers and the sponsors will be your primary contact through all this. They should have already reached out to you and provided their contact info. If you have questions about this, call the office. The child nutrition program will continue until May. We will be providing grab and go/delivery services Monday through Wednesday. Wednesday’s lunch will contain food and snacks for Thursday and Friday as well. This will allow a mixture of hot and packaged lunches for the students. If you need to change your lunch status and receive or choose to no longer receive, let your classroom teacher or sponsor know. How can you as a parent help? • Fill out the survey that will be posted tomorrow. It will assess your material and technological needs. • Be prepared to spend a little time each day helping our teachers. • Be patient I am looking at this as an opportunity to develop a new learning model that is direct, focused, and individually tailored to each child. As an educator, this is both an exciting and terrifying time. Thank you for being a member of the Warrior family. With patience, communication, and hard work, we will overcome any obstacles you may have and together we will teach our students. view image
